Natural Stone Fireplace Smart TV Installation: New Berlin, WI

Fireplace Smart TV Installation

BC Neville Tech was brought in by the builder because of our reputation and experience for complicated or difficult above fireplace installs. To accommodate the varying depths of the stone on this fireplace, BC Neville Tech created a custom plate and painted it to match the Strong articulating arm mount used in this project.

Fireplace installations are often one of the most challenging television mounting scenarios in modern home construction. While they create a beautiful focal point in the room, fireplaces with custom stonework rarely offer a flat or consistent surface for mounting technology. In this case, the natural stone veneer had multiple depth variations, which meant a traditional mounting solution would not sit properly or safely against the wall.

Rather than forcing a standard mount into an imperfect surface, the BC Neville Tech team designed a custom-fabricated load-carrying plate that would allow the mount to sit perfectly flush while maintaining full structural integrity. This custom plate ensured the television would be securely supported while also allowing the articulating mount to operate smoothly.

Maintaining Aesthetic Integrity

To maintain the aesthetic integrity of the installation, the fabricated plate was carefully painted to match the finish of the Strong Contractor Series articulating mount. The goal was to make the structural solution visually disappear into the final design so the focus remained on the television and the fireplace itself.

BC Neville Tech supplied and installed a new 75” LG OLED Smart TV to the custom plate and articulating mount. The final part to this installation was installing a new Sonos Arc Soundbar using a Sanus Universal Soundbar mount. Both the client and builder were ecstatic over the result and single day installation.

The selection of the 75” LG OLED television provided the homeowner with one of the highest-quality viewing experiences currently available. OLED technology delivers exceptional contrast, true blacks, and vibrant color accuracy, making it ideal for both movie watching and everyday television viewing. Mounted above the fireplace, the display now acts as a stunning centerpiece within the living space.

The Strong Contractor Series XL articulating arm mount allows the television to be easily adjusted for optimal viewing angles. This is especially valuable for above-fireplace installations, where the ability to tilt and extend the television helps create a more comfortable viewing position from different seating areas throughout the room.

To complement the television’s high-quality visuals, a Sonos Arc soundbar was installed to deliver immersive, room-filling sound. The Sonos Arc is designed to provide theater-quality audio in a streamlined form factor, supporting Dolby Atmos and delivering rich, dynamic sound without the need for a large speaker system.

The Sanus Universal Soundbar mount was selected to keep the soundbar perfectly aligned with the television while maintaining a clean, integrated appearance. By attaching directly to the TV mount, the soundbar moves seamlessly with the television whenever the articulating arm is extended or adjusted.

Another key element of the installation was the use of hardwired network connections for both the television and the Sonos soundbar. While many devices today rely on wireless connectivity, a hardwired network connection provides greater reliability, faster data speeds, and more consistent streaming performance. This ensures the homeowner can enjoy uninterrupted access to streaming services, music, and smart features without connectivity issues.

Throughout the installation process, the BC Neville Tech team focused on both performance and aesthetics. All cabling was carefully concealed to maintain a clean and professional appearance, ensuring that the final result looked as polished as it functioned.

The project was completed in a single day, demonstrating the efficiency and expertise of BC Neville Tech’s installation team. By carefully planning the custom fabrication and installation process ahead of time, the team was able to complete the work quickly without compromising quality or attention to detail.

System Features:

  • 75” LG OLED
  • Sonos Arc Soundbar
  • Hardwired Network to TV & Soundbar
  • Strong Contractor Series XL Articulating Arm Mount
  • Sanus Universal Soundbar Mount
  • Custom Fabricated & Paint Match Load Carrying Plate

This installation is a perfect example of how thoughtful design, high-quality components, and expert craftsmanship can transform a challenging mounting situation into a clean, elegant entertainment solution. The finished system not only enhances the visual centerpiece of the room but also provides a premium entertainment experience for the homeowner.

If you are planning a TV installation, media room, or any home or business technology project, BC Neville Tech’s industry-leading team will be happy to guide you through the entire process. BC Neville Tech was engaged by the new owner of this home. The client had just closed on a new home, which was equipped with an obsolete/partially functioning 20-year-old A/V & Smart Home system.

Many homeowners inherit outdated technology systems when purchasing an existing property. What once may have been considered cutting-edge often becomes difficult to maintain, unreliable, and incompatible with modern devices.

In this case, the original system no longer met the expectations of a modern smart home, and several components were no longer supported by manufacturers. The homeowner wanted a solution that preserved as much of the original infrastructure as possible while bringing the system into the modern era.

The client’s needs were to incorporate the existing 16 zones of audio, two home theaters from the old system, utilizing any cabling infrastructure possible. In addition to migrating the old systems A/V to the new Control4 Smart Home Manager.

The Client Required the Following Features:

  • 4 new zones of Audio Only
  • 3 new zones of Video & Audio (Samsung “The Frame”)
  • Smart Door Station
  • Surveillance Camera Coverage of Homes Exterior
  • Control4 Automated HVAC Control (2 Zone)
  • Control4 Automated Garage
  • Araknis 10GB Integrated Home Network
  • Remote access and control
  • Future Lighting & Shade Control expansion ability

The goal was not simply to replace the old system, but to thoughtfully modernize the home’s technology while maximizing the value of the existing infrastructure. Reusing viable cabling and components where possible allowed the project to remain efficient while still delivering a significantly upgraded experience.

Once the core functionality requirements were defined with the clients, BC Neville Tech’s industry-leading staff worked to design a complete home solution that the client was comfortable with, which met or exceeded all of the client’s needs.

The Design

The design process involved careful planning, system mapping, and a full evaluation of the home’s existing wiring and equipment. By leveraging decades of experience in custom A/V installation and smart home integration, the BC Neville Tech team created a system architecture that would support both the homeowner’s current lifestyle and future technology expansion.

A key component of the project was the integration of the Control4 platform, which acts as the central operating system for the entire home. With Control4, all entertainment systems, cameras, door stations, HVAC systems, and network infrastructure work together through a single, intuitive interface. This allows the homeowner to manage every aspect of the property from a single app or control panel.

The Installation

The installation also included Samsung “The Frame” televisions in several areas of the home. These televisions were selected not only for their visual performance but also for their ability to blend seamlessly into the home’s interior design. When not in use, they display artwork, transforming the screens into a decorative element rather than a traditional television.

The Araknis 10GB integrated home network provides the backbone for the entire system. Modern smart homes require strong, reliable networking to ensure every device communicates properly. With high-speed networking equipment in place, the home can support streaming media, security monitoring, remote access, and future smart devices without performance issues.

The surveillance camera system was designed to provide full exterior coverage of the property, giving the homeowner enhanced visibility and security. Combined with the smart door station, the client can see who is at the door, communicate with visitors, and grant access remotely.

The Final Product

The final product is an easy-to-use home entertainment system, which seamlessly integrates cutting-edge technology into an easy and fun-to-use home entertainment system, as well as an on-site and remote home manager.

The user interface was designed to be simple and intuitive so that anyone in the home can easily operate the system. Whether adjusting music throughout the house, controlling lighting, viewing security cameras, or managing climate settings, everything can be done through a centralized interface.

This setup gives the client the peace of mind to remotely access and control the entire system from home or anywhere in the world, resulting in a smart home manager that is on call 24/7.

Whether traveling for business or away on vacation, the homeowner can monitor their property in real time, adjust system settings, or receive alerts from their security system. This level of remote access is one of the most valuable features of modern smart home technology.

This system can also easily be upgraded as technology advances. In most cases, at no cost, simple firmware upgrades.

Key Advantage

One of the key advantages of a professionally designed smart home system is long-term flexibility. As new features, devices, or integrations become available, the system can be expanded or updated without requiring a complete replacement. Firmware updates and modular hardware upgrades allow the home’s technology to evolve alongside industry advancements.

Phase two (click HERE to see phase one) of our recent project completion in Bayview was completed this week once the client’s remodeling contractor had completed their basement remodeling project.  All low voltage cabling for this project was completed several weeks back when we completed the client’s great room Sonos home theater.

BC Neville Tech’s experienced systems design staff worked directly with the client’s builder to complete this wiring ahead of drywall, while the project was in rough or stud phase which resulted in a substantial cabling cost savings and a more flexible design.

The basement Rec Room Home Theater consists of a 65” LG G3 OLED SMART TV, with a Sanus In wall Articulating Smart Mount, Binary High Speed Optical HDMI. The clients speaker package consists of (7) Bose Virtual Invisible 791, premium in-ceiling virtually invisible loudspeakers, and a Klipsch KC62 Subwoofer to complete this home theaters speaker array, which resulted in an exceptional visual and audio experience.

In the adjoining Bar we mounting a 43” Samsung QN90D corner mounted using a Peerless extra long articulating arm mount. Additionally, we installed a pair of Bose Virtually Invisible 791 in-ceiling loudspeakers for music. Finally, behind the scenes doing the heavy lifting in today’s smart home, is the final component to this system; a complete Luxul home network upgrade, with wired access point coverage and processing power enough for all of todays and tomorrows smart home products.

The Luxul home network consisted of two primary components, wired and wireless. The wireless component consists of (2) Luxul hardwired Long Range Access Points XAP-310 / LXXAP-1610 which extend and boost the high speed signal delivering strong coverage through the clients entire home and outdoor living spaces.

Which brings us to the second component of the network upgrade, the wired side. The wired side is designed to have all electronics which can be hardwired, resulting a a dual benefit to the client. First being a strong and consistent signal speed will be sent to those wired devices, eliminating buffering or lags.

The second benefit to hardwiring all electronics is the clients WiFi bandwidth remains available in full; resulting in better speeds on your phones and tablets. The wired component is achieved with a combination of a  Luxul XWR-3150 Epic 3 High Speed Router, and XGS-1008 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch.

All in wall CAT6 Network cabling required was completed by BC Neville Tech. This client was very happy that we were able to deliver this completed project just in time to enjoy with their family during the holidays.

Happy Holidays!

All client’s head end equipment is neatly hidden remotely in the basement mechanical shelving.

When designing the perfect home theater, aesthetics and functionality are paramount. One innovative way to enhance both is by relocating the head end equipment—such as amplifiers, receivers, and streaming devices—to a remote location, like the basement mechanical shelving. This approach offers several compelling advantages that can significantly elevate your home entertainment experience.

Firstly, hiding the head end equipment remotely streamlines the design of your home theater. Without the clutter of technical hardware, the space remains sleek and focused on comfort and style. This setup allows for a cleaner aesthetic that emphasizes the screen and speakers, rather than the supporting technology. Homeowners can indulge in a cinematic environment that mirrors professional theaters, where all technical elements are out of sight, allowing the film or show to capture full attention.

Placing equipment in the basement can lead to improved performance and longevity of your devices. Basements often provide a cooler environment, which is ideal for electronic components that generate heat during operation. This can potentially extend the lifespan of your equipment by keeping it at optimal operating temperatures, reducing the risk of overheating and subsequent damage or failure.

Lastly, remote location of the head end equipment enhances the overall user experience by centralizing control. Modern technology allows for seamless integration and operation from a distance—whether through universal remotes or smart home systems. This means you can control all aspects of your home theater setup without ever needing to leave your seat, adding an extra layer of convenience and luxury to your viewing experience.

BC Neville Tech specializes in customizing home theater installations to fit the unique needs and preferences of each homeowner. By considering the placement of head end equipment in less obtrusive areas, we ensure that your home theater not only meets the highest standards of functionality and aesthetics but also enhances your enjoyment and use of the space.
