Whitefish Bay: Luxul Wi-Fi & Home Network Upgrade

BC Neville Tech recently completed a Network/Wi-Fi upgrade using Luxul’s Whole Home Wi-Fi System. This cost-effective system includes one Luxul EPIC 3 XWR-3150 and one Luxul High Power AC1900 Access Point AP to install a reliable wireless network.

Nowadays, a rock-solid Wi-Fi and wired network connection are crucial for every home office, home theater, media room, and whole-home entertainment system. Your family relies on a strong and consistent wireless infrastructure not only for streaming video content on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu or listening to music on Pandora or Spotify but also for working from home and attending virtual school.

The client is an attorney who’s using Zoom to meet with clients and for all court appearances. He was frustrated with his current system because the wireless signal would fluctuate in his home office and great room. At times the Wi-Fi signal would drop between one and two bars, resulting in constant buffering.

He needed a heavy-duty system that wouldn’t drop professional calls during important meetings which is why we implemented the Luxul Whole House Wi-FI System and programmed the Epic 3 Router. We’ve used this system for years and it’s been consistently successful project after project.

Finally, BC Neville Tech ran cabling including HDMI, RG6, and CAT6 and added a Luxul High Power AC1900 Access Point XAP-1510. This boosted the client’s overall Wi-Fi signal throughout the condo to a full five bars while streaming, including the two priority areas his home office and great room. The client was ecstatic as he’ll no longer need to worry about dropping calls or buffering during important Zoom calls with clients or the court.

F45 Training Facility in Brookfield, WI

F45 Training Facility in Brookfield, WI

BC Neville Tech was happy to work with the F45 Training Facility staff on their second location, 1745 W. Bluemound Rd., Brookfield. The F stands for functional training which incorporates a mix of circuit and HIIT style workouts geared towards everyday movement. The 45 stands for 45-minutes—that’s all you need for a full-body workout when done right.

Their motto is efficiency, and so is ours. The BC Tech team consulted with the owner and building manager to customize the best sound dampening measures for their needs. They wanted a sound system that sounds great but isn’t overwhelming in the space.

We started by completing all of the low voltage cabling, including the CAT6 network, a standardized twisted pair cable for Ethernet, and better sound. The cable has to meet specific requirements for crosstalk and system noise and has a standard performance requirement of up to 250 MHz versus 100 MHz for Cat 5 and Cat 5e.

Once this beautiful space was built out and finishes we complete BC Neville Tech’s professional installation staff returned to install the massive commercial JBL Control 31 speakers and JBL Control SB2210 Subwoofer using our custom suspension hanging system which ties into the girder joists resulting in a very clean look on the drop or open ceilings.

This custom suspension hanging system is also beneficial for sound dispersion and dampening. We routed the JBL Control speaker system to a Crown digital amplifier, Sonos digital streaming device, and sound mixer.

The client was exceptionally happy with the quality of the sound in the space, tethered with the sound dampening measures taken.

Lastly, we terminated all Category 6 and Cat 5e network cabling and connected to clients 24 port ethernet switch and router.

Ironwood Golf Course Outdoor Event Space Audio & PA System, Sussex, WI

This summer we were invited to work on a fun project for the Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex, WI. We worked closely with them to develop a custom solution to their audio needs in their party barn event venue that was designed to resemble an 1800s barn.

We installed cabling in buried conduit to four 8″ Proficient Rock speakers, and seven JBL professional PA horns. The speakers and horns were specifically placed for optimal sound coverage on the patio with minimal sound spill onto the golf course.

All of the speakers are tied into a Sonos Amp for seamless streaming and control of music from anywhere on the patio or clubhouse. The speakers are connected to a Peavy multi-source, multi-zone controller/amp. We also have a professional Shure wireless microphone which can extend out to the patio to be used for events.

We used top-notch equipment to create a robust sound system giving everyone from staff to guests, peace of mind in knowing that there won’t be any issues during important events. The iPod compatibility is sure to be a crowd-pleaser as guests can easily play their favorite tunes, and the wireless microphone allows speakers to walk around freely while talking—perfect for wedding toasts and for auctions during a fundraiser.

Whether guests are inside the venue or are enjoying a bit of fresh air on the balcony, they’ll be able to hear the music clearly.

A/V System Upgrade: New Berlin, WI

A/V System Upgrade: New Berlin, WI

We were thrilled to be brought in to this existing home to upgrade their VPN network system. The wiring in many existing homes can no longer accommodate new technologies, but the homeowner would like to take advantage of all of the current smart home features like music and video streaming—that’s where we come in.

The cabling in this mid-90s house was outdated. We discussed the objectives of what the owners wanted for their media system needs and designed a smart home and AV system for them. BC Neville Tech completed all of the updated cabling within the home, including HDMI, network, and IP surveillance cameras.

This client also had a large bulky AV rack in the middle of their great room to encase all of their AV equipment and cabling. We were able to reroute the cabling and move the equipment location to the basement (as pictured below) to give them a much cleaner feel in the great room. Additionally, we updated both of the TVs in their theaters with two 65-inch wall-mounted 4K televisions on a Peerless Articulating Mount Bracket with a mounted soundbar.

Finally, we updated both of the receivers, installing the Yamaha brand featuring the MusicCast app allowing the client to seamlessly walk through the home and control all of their music from their smartphone or tablet. The client was pleased with the ease of functionality as well as with how much this cleaned up both spaces.

Audio Visual System Upgrade in the Third Ward: Milwaukee, WI

Custom Home Theater Upgrade: Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin

This was a really fun project in the great room of a Third Ward industrial condo. We upgraded from a 50 inch television that was sitting on a cabinet, to a 75 inch Sony XBR 4K UHD TV that is now mounted on an articulating arm.

We flanked the TV with Inwall LCR theater speakers from Proficient, while hiding all of the equipment nicely in the armoire below the television. All of the audio visual equipment can be controlled with the armoire doors closed by using a Universal Remote IR/RF Hard Button Control.

We replaced old ugly bookshelf speakers that were falling off the wall, with much cleaner looking built-in InWall LCR‘s located below the screen in the dedicated theater area. We also upgraded the client’s universal system controller, added a Sony Blu Ray Player to give streaming capability, and upgraded the old theater receiver with a current Yamaha 7.1 Audio MusicCast Theater Receiver giving the client the ability to control the system and stream music from the convenience of a smart phone or tablet.

The client is very happy with the new look of their home theater, and is excited to entertain friends and family during football season.
