Above Fireplace TV Cabling & Mount: Great Room 7.1 Theater With Multi-Room Audio & Whole Home Network

It was an absolute pleasure to work with this family to upgrade their new home entertainment system.  Our client’s felt the same way—they love their upgraded home entertainment system.

BC Neville Tech was brought in by this client to bring install a new 7.1 home theater in their great room.  The previous owners TV placement was in the corner of great room which wasn’t ideal for this client. 

They have a georgeous open floorplan, with floor to ceiling fireplace. Ideally, the client wanted the 70 LG OLED to be mounted on the fireplace. This is a request most A/V contractors could not accommodate.

We have a complete production wood and metal shop onsite at our 5,000 sq ft office/showroom conveniently situated on Cleveland Ave. in New Berlin.  

Specialty Stone/Mason Services

Once our technicians completed the specialty stone/mason services as well as the required cabling to accommodate the new TV location and Surround Array. Then we were ready for the real fun; equipment installation! 

See the above list of equipment used on this project. We used a 70” LG OLED 4K HDTV paired with a Episode 550 Series Premium Soundbar mounted to move together in tandem to deliver the most authentic, high quality sound possible. 

The remainder of this 7.1 Home Theater’s Surround Sound speaker array consists of 4- Polk 8” In-wall speakers and completed with a compact but powerful Episode Triple 8”Subwoofer. The equipment driving the TV and surround sound speaker array is all concealed, remotely hidden in the clients basement- A Yamaha Aventage RX-A4A Smart Receiver. 

The receiver and other system equipment is neatly stored within a Strong 22U Skeleton Rack delivering the most reasonable, organized solution available.  

We’re using the dedicated second zone of the Yamaha Aventage RX-A4A to power and control for the following multi-zone audio rooms:

  • Master Bedroom
  • Master Bathroom
  • Upper Deck
  • Patio
  • Beds 1-3
  • Family Room
  • Dining Room
  • Kitchen

All rooms can be completely controlled from the clients smartphone or tablet within the Yamaha MusicCast App controller.

Great Room & Master Bedroom Home Theater System: Pewaukee, WI

We had fun installing surround sound in a great room and master bedroom, along with outdoor audio, for this Pewaukee home.

Our client had just purchased this home in the Deer Haven Subdivision in Pewaukee and wanted to complete the family’s home entertainment system before moving in. We see this often at BC Neville Tech. Clients are planning to include technology, security, and home theater systems into the build more and more often.

Our experienced sales/design staff had several phone conversations to identify the family’s primary needs for home entertainment and low voltage cabling. We also met on-site before closing the final design.

This client has a double fireplace with no existing cabling and wanted to have both sound and a television mounted above the fireplace on both sides.

In the Master Bedroom, we completed the necessary low voltage audio/visual cabling and added a 55″ LG Nano Cell HD TV on a Peerless articulating arm wall mount. Lastly, we mounted a KEF soundbar to deliver excellent space, filling music in their bedroom.

On the opposite side, in the Great Room, we completed cabling for a new 65″ LG NanoCell HD TV on an articulating Peerless wall mount. The family’s primary gathering spot; we wanted to accompany the new TV with a great-sounding surround sound system.

We certainly accomplished this with a JBL 5.1 surround array featuring a TV-mounted soundbar, floor-standing subwoofer, and wall-mounted left and right rear speakers, together delivering the ideal atmosphere to enjoy their entertainment as a family.

Finally, we installed one pair of 6.5″ Proficient Rock Speakers flanking the client’s patio. These all-weather speakers remain outside year-round and Sound great for music or listening to the game on your patio.

All of the entertainment equipment within the home is powered and controlled by a Yamaha RX-A2 : 2 Zone smart surround sound receiver located in the basement. The system can be entirely operated remotely with the client’s smartphone or tablet using the Yamaha MusicCast App or the supplied remote control.

The client was delighted with the finished system and looks forward to years of family entertainment.

TV Installation Above Fireplace: Sussex

BC Neville Tech was selected for this above fireplace TV installation project due to our unique experience in integrating technology solutions in truly custom environments. The client wanted to mount a 75″ Samsung QLED above their gas fireplace with a cultured stone veneer.

Even though the stone veneer is manufactured using a strong adhesive and can hold quite a bit of weight, we had to be aware of, and take into consideration the integrity of the structure.

Ideally, both for the homeowner and BC Neville Tech the builder would have completed basic Power and Low Voltage cabling to accommodate a wall-mounted flat screen. Unfortunately, in this case, as in many, no wiring was done pre-construction.

Thankfully, BC Neville Tech is one of the only local technology and low voltage integrators with experience to remove stone and mason work to allow for the required cabling for the client’s new smart TV mounted on a Peerless articulating arm. The client also chose to go with a mounted soundbar.

Once the stone is removed and the cabling is run, the TV wall mount is attached to the wall. The TV is installed, plugged in, and we make sure all of the cords are out of sight. Zip ties are a handy tool to keep electrical or low voltage cables are organized and tucked into place behind the TV.

Finally, the client has a Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Sony Blu-ray player which we ran a 30 ft Vanco HDMI cable and CAT6 network cable. The result, is a clean, very contemporary installation, as you can see from the project photos. We look forward to helping this client in the future with their new basement media room.

Project outline: convert Samsung Frame and Bose surrounds system install.

We were hired by this Pewaukee family to supply electronics and installation services for this challenging project and the end result was great!

They wanted their TV mounted above the fireplace for an aesthetically pleasing look in their living room, and to free up wall space for bookcases, furniture, and wall art but didn’t want any cables showing. Setting it on the mantle was out of the question. For safety reasons, they wanted to attach the TV to an articulating arm.

This home has a natural fireplace so access behind the fieldstone was not possible. Our installation and design staff was able to draw from over 25 years in rural architecture, building, and custom AV installation experience to disassemble the mantle and seamlessly route TV (high-speed optical HDMI), Network (Cat 6), and speaker cabling.

Our team also made sure to incorporate other factors into the design such as the distance of the TV form the fireplace, measuring heat output, and best TV selection for a fireplace mount.

We then used a Peerless Articulating Mount to hang the 65″ Samsung Frame TV. The client was very happy with the truly custom and professional result of the installation. The Samsung Frame TV and Bose surround speaker cabling is run to the Yamaha Aventage 788 surround sound receiver and source equipment located remotely in the basement resulting in a clean, sleek installation which you can see in the photos below.

Above Fireplace Flat Screen TV Installation: Muskego, WI

Custom Flat Screen TV Installation Above Fireplace

On this project we upgraded the client from a 55 inch Samsung flat screen television, that was mounted in the cabinetry to the left of the fireplace (as seen in the before photo), to a 65 inch Samsung SUHD 4K LED Smart HDTV.

This project proved to be a difficult installation as we knew it would be when we first looked at it. The uneven surface and rounded edges of the River rock were challenging to work with, however BC Neville Tech’s professional installation staff utilized their years of experience to deliver the end result as you see in the pictures below.

Our client is not only extremely happy that he upgraded technology, but is even happier with the clean installation that BC Neville tech delivered. Client was also surprised and pleased that we were able to accommodate the installation in a single day, allowing to enjoy his new home entertainment center immediately for the holidays.
