Home Theater A/V System: Oak Creek, WI

Home Theater Integrated With Existing Outdoor A/V System

Thanks to our existing client in Oak Creek, who trusted us to work with him on one of the more elaborate custom outdoor a/v systems we’ve designed and implemented at BC Neville Tech.

We were honored to have earned this client’s trust a few years back when he constructed an ample outdoor living space to design and implement a custom outdoor A/V system. So when he decided to remodel the interior of his home, he reached out to BC Neville Tech’s design staff to create a custom A/V system for his house that would integrate and operate with their existing outdoor A/V system.

We moved the existing equipment for the outdoor a/v system from the basement to the built-in shelving installed in the great room. We also installed the new in-home main equipment system in the built-in shelving, keeping everything together.

Our professional installation staff ran new or extended existing cabling and all the new cabling for the new Great Room home theater. We completed all the necessary HDMI, speaker, and network cabling in the great room to accommodate the new 65″ LG QLED mounted to a Peerless-AV articulating TV mount.

For the sound, we used a passive KEF soundbar mounted directly to the TV that follows the TV’s articulation, delivering a clean look and clear sound. We also matched the sound with 6″ KEF in-wall rear speakers. Finally, to complete this system’s clean, flush look, we installed a Proficient in-wall subwoofer.

At the main equipment, we’re powering the speakers and controlling the system with a Yamaha RXV-A2 smart receiver. The client loves the seamless integration and control of his new in-door system with his existing outdoor system, all through the smart app control. Thank you again, Steve!

Milwaukee, Third Ward: Home Theater and Multi-Zone Whole Home Audio SyStem Update/Upgrade

For many reasons, both first-time clients and loyal existing clients call BC Neville Tech to update or upgrade the outdated technology in their homes and offices.

In this case, we did the home theater update for two reasons.

First, the existing receiver was defective, and the technology is 12 years old was out of date and nowhere near the current quality. We installed a new Denon AVRX3700H: 9.2 Channel 8K Ultra HD AV Receiver with WI-FI, HEOS built-in, and voice control. We chose this system because of it’s quality and functionality. It’s a wireless multi-room sound system with a free app giving you full control from your smartphone or handheld device.

BC Neville Technologies also installed a Vanco HDMI splitter to allow the client’s Apple TV, Sony Blu Ray, and Denon AM FM tuner to be played over the client’s existing Speaker Craft MZC 66 whole home keypad music system — a heavy duty amplifier and controller for in-home audio.

We upgraded the cabling where necessary to allow 4k & 8k viewing through the client’s Sony Bravia Smart TV.

Finally, we removed all of the obsolete wirings from the old system and neatly secured the cabling to look more appealing and allow for easy service or additions to the system in the future.

We reprogrammed the client’s Universal Remote URC MX-980 to control the new upgraded equipment and trained the client on system operation.

The client was very happy with the quick installation, completed in one day, and was most happy with the enhancements to the system with the new equipment, such as music streaming and smartphone control from anywhere in the home or patio, to name a few.

Home Theater Above Natural Fireplace, Pewaukee, WI

Project outline: convert Samsung Frame and Bose surrounds system install.

We were hired by this Pewaukee family to supply electronics and installation services for this challenging project and the end result was great!

They wanted their TV mounted above the fireplace for an aesthetically pleasing look in their living room, and to free up wall space for bookcases, furniture, and wall art but didn’t want any cables showing. Setting it on the mantle was out of the question. For safety reasons, they wanted to attach the TV to an articulating arm.

This home has a natural fireplace so access behind the fieldstone was not possible. Our installation and design staff was able to draw from over 25 years in rural architecture, building, and custom AV installation experience to disassemble the mantle and seamlessly route TV (high-speed optical HDMI), Network (Cat 6), and speaker cabling.

Our team also made sure to incorporate other factors into the design such as the distance of the TV form the fireplace, measuring heat output, and best TV selection for a fireplace mount.

We then used a Peerless Articulating Mount to hang the 65″ Samsung Frame TV. The client was very happy with the truly custom and professional result of the installation. The Samsung Frame TV and Bose surround speaker cabling is run to the Yamaha Aventage 788 surround sound receiver and source equipment located remotely in the basement resulting in a clean, sleek installation which you can see in the photos below.

New Construction Prewire: Whitefish Bay, WI

New Construction Prewire: Whitefish Bay, WI

We’re honored to be working with John Kannenberg Homes on this beautiful contemporary new construction prewire project in Whitefish Bay, WI. We recently completed all the low-voltage cabling and conduit for this roughly 6000 square-foot new construction residential home.

The home has eight TV locations, one HD projector location, three 7.1 surround Sound Theaters, and two 5.1 Surround Sound home theaters. All speakers are recessed and will be flush with the ceilings and walls. All of the televisions will be wall-mounted to keep the contemporary feel of the home. Additionally, we prewired for surveillance cameras around the perimeter of the house. Lastly, we wired for five additional zones of audio throughout the home.

This family will be able to stream multiple devices at the same time, allowing each person in the family to watch or listen to his or her desired videos and music selections. We’ll also install a Multiple-Access point Luxul Home network system giving them an additional access point on the opposite side of the home to ensure complete WiFi coverage throughout the entire house.

We worked with the developer to design a low-voltage plan to accommodate smart home features at the time of design and have implemented all of the cabling as noted. On a big project like this, we start by meeting with our clients, so we have a good understanding of their audiovisual and entertainment needs.

We then meet with the builder to synthesize cabling, wiring, and equipment installation into the design of the home. From there, everything is timed out with the contractors as the house is finished. We’ll go back to this home several times in coming months to add lighting and equipment as the building progresses.
