Outdoor Living Entertainment System: Waukesha/Genessee/Pewaukee
BC Neville Tech recently installed a 75″ Samsung 4K HDTV in an Apollo Premium Full Sun Enclosure, complemented by a Sunbrite Outdoor Soundbar. To enhance the audio experience, we paired the soundbar with a pair of 6″ SpeakerCraft Rock Speakers, serving as the rear speakers in a surround format. This setup provides a richer and more immersive sound for both music and movies.
To complete the audio system, we included a 10″ Proficient In-Ground Subwoofer. This high-quality subwoofer delivers deep, powerful bass, significantly enhancing the overall sound experience.
Powering our speaker array is the Yamaha RX-A4A, a smart receiver that not only amplifies the sound but also handles HDMI switching and video streaming for the entire outdoor entertainment system. The head-end equipment for this system includes an Episode 1-Channel 300 Watt Subwoofer Amplifier, the Yamaha RX-A4A Smart Surround Receiver, and a Universal Remote MRF350.
Control of the entire Outdoor Living Entertainment System is made easy with a custom-programmed MX890 remote. This remote can be used outside the home to control all the equipment, including the outdoor TV.
Designing the Perfect Outdoor Entertainment Space in Wisconsin: Top 3 Tips
Creating an outdoor entertainment space that combines comfort, functionality, and style is rewarding, especially in a state like Wisconsin, known for its beautiful summers and vibrant fall seasons. Whether you’re planning to host family gatherings, watch sports, or enjoy the great outdoors, here are three essential tips to help you design an outdoor entertainment space that suits your needs.
Consider Seasonal Weather
Wisconsin’s weather can be pretty diverse, with warm summers, chilly autumns, and cold winters. When designing your outdoor entertainment space, it’s essential to account for these seasonal changes to ensure year-round usability.
Weatherproof Equipment: Invest in weather-resistant furniture, electronics, and materials. Look for outdoor-rated TVs, speakers, and other audio/visual equipment that withstand temperature fluctuations, rain, and snow. Products designed for all-weather use will ensure durability and consistent performance.
Heating and Cooling Solutions: To extend the usability of your space, consider adding heating elements like fire pits, patio heaters, or outdoor fireplaces for cooler months. In the summer, ceiling fans or portable cooling units can help keep the area comfortable.
Shelter and Shade: Incorporate structures such as pergolas, retractable awnings, or gazebos to provide shade and protection from rain. These additions enhance comfort and protect your equipment and furniture from the elements.
Optimize for Audio and Visual Experiences
Creating an immersive entertainment experience outdoors requires careful planning of your audio and visual setup. Here’s how to get the most out of your outdoor A/V equipment:
Strategic Placement: Position your TV or projector screen in a shaded area to minimize glare and improve visibility. Ensure that speakers are placed to provide even sound coverage without disturbing neighbors. Using landscape speakers or rock speakers can seamlessly blend the equipment into the environment.
Surround Sound: For a truly cinematic experience, consider a surround sound system with strategically placed speakers. Adding a subwoofer can enhance the bass, making movies and music more immersive.
Smart Integration: Use a smart receiver to easily control your audio and visual components. Smart receivers, like the Yamaha RX-A4A, can handle HDMI switching, video streaming, and audio amplification, all controlled through a single app or remote. This integration simplifies the user experience and allows quick adjustments based on your activities.
Design for Comfort and Aesthetics
A well-designed outdoor space is about functionality and creating a welcoming and stylish environment where you and your guests can relax and enjoy.
Comfortable Seating: Invest in comfortable, weather-resistant furniture. Consider modular seating options that can be rearranged to accommodate different gatherings. Add cushions and throws for extra comfort and warmth.
Ambient Lighting: Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the mood. Use a combination of string lights, lanterns, and LED path lights to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Consider smart lighting options that can be dimmed or changed in color to match the occasion.
Personal Touches: Add personal touches like outdoor rugs, decorative pillows, and potted plants to make the space feel more like an extension of your home. Incorporate elements that reflect your style and preferences, whether rustic, modern, or eclectic.
