BC Neville Tech was contacted by the homeowner of this project with an existing multi-zone home entertainment system installed in the early 2000s and was subsequently added to several times since.

The issues of this system were very similar to what we come across regularly: technology and functionality limitations due to the age of the system. This system also had features/equipment that needed to be fixed.

Also, specific to this project, the systems did not work cohesively together due to the home entertainment system being completed in numerous phases with several owners over 20 years. They did not optimize the sound or video of the equipment installed.

BC Neville Tech is experienced at completely transforming a system like this into a cohesive, easy-to-operate system that sounds and looks great! This client was over the moon with the result on all these fronts!

Please see this client’s testimonials of their experience while working with BC Neville Tech’s experienced staff and tech experts!

Why it’s a good idea to upgrade your current home entertainment system

In today’s fast-paced world, having a home entertainment system has become a necessity for many households. With technological advancements, the options for home entertainment have expanded, providing us with immersive experiences that were once unimaginable. While it may seem tempting to stick with your current setup, upgrading your home entertainment system can bring a whole new level of enjoyment to your living space.

Enhanced Audio and Visual Experience

One of the primary reasons to upgrade your home entertainment system is to enhance your audio and visual experience. Technology has come a long way, and modern systems offer high-definition displays and crisp sound quality that can transport you into another world. Whether you enjoy watching movies, playing video games, or listening to music, upgrading your system will provide you with a more immersive and realistic experience. The latest televisions and sound systems offer features like 4K resolution, HDR, Dolby Atmos, and surround sound, which can greatly enhance your overall enjoyment.

Access to a Wide Range of Content

With the rise of streaming services and online platforms, there is an abundance of content available at our fingertips. Upgrading your home entertainment system opens up a world of possibilities, allowing you to access a wide range of content from various sources. Whether you want to binge-watch your favorite TV shows, stream movies, or explore the vast collection of documentaries, an upgraded system will provide you with the necessary tools to do so. Additionally, many modern systems come with smart features and voice assistants, making it easier than ever to navigate through different platforms and find the content you love.

Future-Proofing Your Setup

Technology is constantly evolving, and what may be cutting-edge today could become outdated in a few years. By upgrading your home entertainment system, you are future-proofing your setup, ensuring that you stay up-to-date with the latest advancements. This means that you won’t have to worry about missing out on new features, improved performance, or compatibility issues with emerging technologies. Investing in an upgraded system now will save you from the hassle of having to replace individual components later on, as you would be starting with a more advanced and versatile foundation.

Upgrading your current home entertainment system is a decision that can greatly enhance your overall viewing and listening experience. With enhanced audio and visual capabilities, access to a wide range of content, and future-proofing your setup, an upgraded system can bring a new level of enjoyment to your home. So, don’t hesitate to invest in the latest technology and create a captivating entertainment space that will leave you and your loved ones in awe.

Dick Smith’s Bait & Tackle Delafield, WI

Dick Smith’s Bait & Tackle Delafield, WI

Thank you to Mike Smith from Dick Smith’s Bait & Tackle in the Delafield, WI Smiley Barn for hiring BC Neville Tech to install a low-voltage audio system in their retail store. They’ve been a Lake Country family-owned and operated small business since 1982. Dick’s daughter Becky and his son Mike run the store, while his wife Nancy, “The Big Boss” takes care of the financials.

I personally was introduced to Dick Smith by my father when I was just a kid in the early eighties. We would always hit Dick Smith’s before heading out for a day of fishing on Nagawicka Lake, Pewaukee Lake, or Upper and Lower Nebabin.

I was so pleased to be able to share BC Neville Tech’s expertise in A/V and Low Voltage when Mike reached out for an audio system for the store, after reaping years of expert advice from Mike and his staff. BC Neville Tech was able to come in and offer a complete design, to cabling and finish installation of speakers and equipment for the store and live well area. We implemented seven different zones of speakers, featuring Polk 6.5″ In-Ceiling Loudspeakers, and one Proficient All-Weather Speaker in the live well area.

Cabling the system proved to be challenging in a 100 plus-year-old barn, but we were able to draw on our over 20 years of installation experience to run wires for the speakers and volume controls everywhere we needed them. All of the speakers connect at the main unit to two Four-Zone Vanco Speaker Selector Box for impedance. All speakers are then tied into a new Sonos Amp, delivering amplified digital streaming from the client’s phones or desktop. Lastly, we pulled a new CAT6 ethernet network line for their POS and CC machines.

Thanks Again, Mike!

Fun A/V Installation Project: Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin

Custom Audiovisual Installation Project: Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin

Well we have another fun installation project for you folks located in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin.

As you can see from the project photos below this was a tough installation. This home is an existing 1940s brick home that was recently renovated with over 1400 square feet added to it, resulting in three different attic spaces, making it next to impossible to maneuver around to add cabling. This just shows how committed BC Neville tech is to getting cabling where it is needed, and doing it the right way, without having exposed wires—no project is too challenging for us!

We implemented two home theaters, six additional zones of built-in ceiling speakers, and one pair outdoor rock speakers powered by Sonos streaming system. We also implemented a Hikvision six camera surveillance system, featuring an 8-channel two TB NVR, in this home. We installed cameras in several rooms throughout the home giving the client the ability to keep an eye on the nanny. The exterior cameras allow the client to view his entire front yard, including the front door and his backyard, with pan tilt and zoom capability.

Equipment used on this job: Hikvision Surveillance System, Sony TVs, Yamaha receivers, Sonos zone players, Proficient in-wall and in-ceiling theater speakers, Panamax surge protection, Luxul wireless equipment and network switches, URC’s universal remote control, Home Pro controller’s giving the owner the ability to walk freely throughout his home in control all of his entertainment systems, with either the universal system controller, or simply at the touch of his hands with his iPhone or tablet.

If you’re thinking about adding an audio visual system in your home, or just want to hide your existing cables and boxes, please contact me to set up a free consultation.

Existing Multi-Zone Audio System Upgrade: Richfield, WI

Existing Multi-Zone Audio System Upgrade for Home Theater

A client in Richfield, Wisconsin approached us a few weeks back that had an existing Russound multi-zone audio system. This home system did not have streaming features and had two zones which weren’t even functional on the main zone player. They also had several keypads which were non-functional and were interested in the ability to play music wirelessly, in multiple rooms in their house, through their iPads and iPhones.

Based on their needs, we were able to accomplish everything that they wanted to have, without over selling them on additional audio equipment that wasn’t going to add any value or functionality. I stress this point because at B.C. Neville Tech we look at each individual client and system, to design a custom entertainment system that fits their needs.

In this specific application, we removed the non-functioning multi-zone player and keypads, replacing them with a cost effective new Sonos system – a great fit for their specific needs.

The Sonos system allows you to play music, movies, and TV wirelessly in multiple rooms with zoning capabilities—you can play different songs in different rooms, or you can group all your speakers together to hear the same song throughout your home.

The Sonos sound system, with their small speaker design, has a crystal clear vibrant sound that automatically balances no matter where the speaker is placed in the room.

After install and training, the client was having issues with the system shutting down. We have installed nearly 100 Sonos systems in 10 years and have never come across this issue. Immediately we came out for a service call and were able to discern that their AT&T router was not compatible with the Sonos system. By updating their router to a compatible modem router, this solved the issue and the system has been working great ever since. Client is happy.
